Piper J-3 of Ancenis Flying club (France)

L'Aéroclub du Pays d'Ancenis (ACPA), dont je fais partie depuis 1996, a la chance de posséder un Piper J-3 immatriculé F-BETY (en fait un ex-L-4J). Celui-ci fait la joie de quelques passionnés qui le pilotent régulièrement. Ce Piper aurait appartenu autrefois à Marcel Braud, président du Conseil d'Administration et fondateur de l'entreprise Manitou (siège à Ancenis), qui l'aurait ensuite cédé à l'aéroclub.
The Ancenis Flying club (Western France), which is my club since 1996, has the chance to own a J-3 Piper registered F-BETY (in fact an ex-L-4J). This one enjoy some specific fans who fly it regularly. This Piper would have belonged formerly to Marcel Braud, president of the Board of directors and founder of the company Manitou (HQ in Ancenis, Western france), which would have then given it to the flying club.

Piper L-4H du Musée d'aviation d'Angers

Piper L-4H of Angers aviation museum

Parmi les nombreux avions du Musée Régional de l'Air situé à l'aérodrome d'Angers-Marcé (49), le Piper L-4H "Grasshopper" immatriculé F-BCPY (s/n 43-30240) est une pièce de collection aux couleurs du Piper L-4 "A-72" de la 2e D.B. (capitaine Collet et Lieutenant Mantoux) ayant accompli la mission du 24 août 1944 au dessus de Paris (cf page 1).
Among the numerous planes of the Régional Museum of the Air, located at Angers-Marcé airfield (Western France), the Piper L-4H “Grasshopper” registered F-BCPY (s/n 43-30240) is a collector's unit painted with the colors of Piper L-4 "A-72" of 2e D.B. (captain Collet and Lieutenant Mantoux) which completed the mission of August 24, 1944, over Paris (see page 1)..

Cet avion fut abandonné en août 1944 sur le terrain d'Angers-Avrillé après avoir participé au débarquement et à la libération de la ville d'Angers. Il est régulièrement présenté aujourd'hui à des meetings aériens, souvent piloté par Benoît Blattlin, pilote officiel du musée et également membre de l'Aéroclub du Pays d'Ancenis (44).
This plane was abandoned in August 1944 on Angers-Avrillé airfield after it took part in Normandy landing and the liberation of the town of Angers. It is regularly shown in air shows, often flown by Benoît Blattlin, official pilot of the museum and also member of the Ancenis flying club (Western France)..
